Although Gorillaz Feel Good Inc. is an animated video, it still follows the concept of an alternative rock song. This video is a performance video of the animated band performing to a crowd. This is evident in most rock songs where the band have to perform to fans and audience. This song subverts most alternative rock songs in the sense that it's animated which you don't see regularly. However it does follow the conventions as it's set in an underground venue which is hardly lit setting up this eary atsmosphere.
Mise En Scene
The location of this video is shot in a dark underground warehouse with a prevelant colour of Red. The use of red in this specific song bring a sense of danger and violence, allowing the audience to feel on the edge. Although animated, the costume reflects a real life band; the characters are wearing leather trousers with their tops off. Other characters are typically seen wearing dark colours. They have a lot of energy when playing their instruments just as if in a real life concert
